Brian Shaw retires from Pitts Presentation

Pitts Presentation Chorley Factory

One of our long serving members of staff is retiring this month. Brian Shaw (pictured fourth from the left) has worked with us for the past ten years and is taking early retirement at the age of 69!

He has lived and worked in many countries; between the ages 2 -14 Brian lived in Peru where his father worked in the textile industry. Following in his father’s footsteps Brian began working at age 15 and at 17 started his apprenticeship in textiles.

1979-1980 he worked in Sudan in textiles. He then worked for South African companies in Swaziland, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Durban, Cape Town until 2001, plus Germany, Spain, France and Switzerland. Between 2001 and 2008 he worked in the UK and then back in Cape Town before starting at Pitts Presentation.

Brian started as a production assistant at Pitts and then was promoted to production supervisor. During this period he has been involved in many company improvements and also the expansion of business premises.

On the 2 August Brian will be moving back to Durban in South African with his wife Vanda and intends to spend quality time with his son, daughter in-law and four grandchildren who already live there. He also intends to be reunited with old friends and colleagues, spend time gardening, take long walks on the beach and generally relaxing.

We wish him all the best and a happy retirement.
