Pitts Presentation Director’s determination to help fight Diabetes type 1

Pitts Finance Director Rachel Cowling and her husband put on an annual music concert ‘Sing for a Cure’ that fundraises exclusively for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), a charity committed to eradicating Type 1 diabetes. Since 2015 Sing for a Cure created by Rachel and her husband Matt, has raised over £15,000 for JDRF.

JDRF, a charity which has pledged not to stop until they have created a world without Type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes has touched the lives of many children and adults around the UK, including Matt and Rachel Cowling and their son Ben. Ben was diagnosed at the age of 7 and is now 18. Through their personal experience, they have come to realise the importance of research into how people with Type 1 diabetes can lead lives independent from the shadow of injections and needles.

The most recent show in March of this year, ‘This is ME!’ was the fourth show and the second time where all the music was live, incorporating over 30 songs from hit musicals with a matinee and evening performance in East Grinstead. Everyone involved gives their time, enthusiasm and talent for free. It’s a fun filled experience for all the family.

Plans are afoot already for the next two years’ concerts. Watch this space! https://www.facebook.com/singforacure/
